HOW TO BUILD A DIY PLYWOOD HEADBOARD

Materials:

You will need plywood, 2x4's, a miter saw, wood screws, and some other tools and materials to complete this project over the weekend.

Cut your 2x4s to your size specifications. For this project I went with the standard King size.

1

Drill pocket holes into the horizontal pieces and the middle spacers.

2

Assemble the 2x4 frame with pocket hole screws and wood glue.

3

Cut the plywood strips at a 45 degree angle leaving a few inches for a later precise cut.

4

Using wood screws, wood glue, and clamps attach the plywood to the 2x4 frame.

5

Grab a circular saw and trim the excess plywood from the headboard.

6

Add edge banding for a professional finish.
