get organized!

Builder grade closets leave a lot to be desired. Don't you agree?

A single rod and a shelf above it are a recipe for organization disaster.

Custom closets are expensive, but you can DIY your own custom closet for more organization!

YES, You can build your own closet!

DIY closet systems are great for beginners and only require a few tools.

design and make cuts

I wanted drawers and you need boards to attach the closet organizer to the wall.

Make Pocket holes

Pocket holes join the boards together and add stability

Build drawer dividers

If you are adding drawers you want to make sure the dividers are square.

build the boxes

Build each side of your closet organizer.  I built bottom to top.

Install each side of the closet organizer being sure to attach to wall studs.

finishing touches

Paint, wall decals and hardware were all  added to create a custom look to this DIY closet organizer.

The best part about this project?  You can take any builder grade closet from drab to fab in a weekend!
