This simple and easy DIY plywood headboard is made with one sheet of plywood and a few 2x4s. Learn how to make a headboard in a weekend.
supplies needed
2×4’s for the frame
Plywood
Miter saw
Power drill
Circular saw
Wood glue
Kreg jig
Step 1 – Cut 2X4’s to size

Measure out the width and height you need for your headboard. The best way to do this is to use masking tape and create a “headboard” on the wall.
Step 2 – drill pocket holes

Use a Kreg Jig at the 1-½″ settings to drill pocket holes on the two horizontal pieces and the middle spacers.
Step 3 – build the frame

Attach all the pieces of the frame by applying wood glue where the 2X4’s meet and using 2 ½″ pocket hole screws.
Step 4 – cut the plywood

Rip the plywood into 18″ wide strips. Lay it on the corner of the frame at a 45-degree angle, leaving some overlap.
