HOW TO BUILD A DIY Solar Pool Heater

You will need pressure treated 2x4's, screws, various hoses, valves, a pump, and some other tools and materials to complete this project.

Build a base to support the weight of the hoses out of the pressure treated lumber.

Begin coiling the hose and attach it to the support base using strap clamps.

Paint the hose with a matte black spray paint. This will minimize any reflections for increased solar penetration.

Add reflector panels to increase the sunlight absorbed by the hoses.

Connect the hoses using valves and then attach them to the pump.

Run the pump and adjust the valves to give the water time to warm in the hoses.
