Easy Lightweight DIY Cornhole Boards

Cornhole is a popular summer activity for cookouts and beach days alike, and creating your own boards is as easy as 1-2-3.

You will need the plans, some lumber, a Cricut Maker 3, some permanent vinyl, a drill, and some other tools and materials.

MATERIALS

Step 1: Build the Frame

Make the cuts to the 1x4s and assemble the frame using wood screws and finish screws.

Step 2: Add the Plywood

Cut the plywood to fit the frame or buy based on the size. Add a hole to the top and then attach the plywood to the frame along the side with finishing screws.

Step 3: Attach Legs

Round off the tops of the legs with a compass and jigsaw then attach the legs to the frame with a carriage bolt and wing nuts.

Step 4: Customization Design

Load up Cricut Design Space and create your design. I went with funny game quotes.

Step 5: Set up the Cricut

Add the Smart Roll to the Cricut Maker 3 for continuous cutting.

Step 6: Run the Cricut

Press start on the machine and watch the Cricut work its magic, and bonus it measures the material on its own.

Step 7: Prepare the Material

Weed the vinyl and apply the transfer tape to ready for a seamless transition to the cornhole boards.

Step 8: Transfer Designs

Add your designs to the cornhole boards.

Step 9: Scorekeeper

Don't forget to make a scorekeeper for the cornhole game.
