DIY Wood Slat Kitchen Island Trim

This simple DIY wood slat trim project is an easy beginner project anyone can do.

The added dimension of wood slats creates a chic and modern focal point to your kitchen.

Prep the kitchen island by removing nails and any old trim before filling holes with putty.

Prepare the island for paint by scuff sanding and giving it a good clean.

Measure and cut the trim boards.

Using a brad nailer attach the trim boards to the island using a second trim piece to add space between each board.

Cover nail holes with putty then add primer.

Using a paint gun, roller, or brush add the desired paint color to the entire island.
