DIY Ruler Pencil Holder

ANIKA'S DIY LIFE

This DIY ruler pencil holder is a really quick project and makes a perfect teacher gift too!

Truth is, we have since made another 3-4 of these (honestly, I have lost count) because this is the gift my kids decide on every year for their teacher.

Materials

– Scrap wood  – 8 Wood rulers  – Hardboard or 1/4″ Plywood  – Wood Glue – Miter Saw or Miter Box with saw – Brad nailer and 1 1/4″ finish nails

Step 1

Cut the scrap wood board into two 4″ pieces and two 2.5″ pieces. You can use a miter saw for this or a miter saw works well too.

Step 2

Build the box by attaching sides using wood glue and finish nails. If you don’t have a brad nailer, you can use countersunk screws as well. Just be sure drill a pilot hole first.

Step 3

Cut out the bottom of the box using a 1/4″ plywood or hardboard.
