I have had the idea for this DIY Rustic X-leg Console table for a while! I got an overwhelming love for the upholstered X-leg bench. I wanted to spin off that bench into a console table and I am so happy with the way it turned out!
I partnered with Build Something to bring you the free plans for this easy DIY console table.
Now if I simply made it taller and added a plank top, it would have made a nice table too…
But I wanted it to look a little more chunky and have more storage.
It needed shelves…
This is a super easy build!
It is made completely with structural lumber that cost under $45! All you need is a Kreg Jig and a Miter Saw! Oh and a drill too!

Building a DIY Entryway Table
I have had plans to build this console table for a long time! Finally, after moving with a garage still full of boxes, I decided to get down to building on the floor of the driveway…
Only problem… it was 90-100°F weather and absolutely no shade!
So I did what any passionate woodworker does – slathered on sunscreen and built it….
Easy DIY Console Table
The most complicated part is cutting the angles.
The X-legs came together and looked awesome!
After that, it is the easiest build ever!
About 2 hours and lots of sweat drenched towels later, I pulled the finished table into the garage. That’s when I realized – I attached not one but both legs the wrong way… the pocket holes were facing out instead of in!
I almost cried!
Here it is!
The console table literally made with sweat and tears…
I love the chunkiness of it!
