Kids Room Decor Idea Using Deco Foil
Create fun kids room decor using deco foil and no special tools. This sign is perfect for any kid or teen room or even in a play room. The deco foil adds lots of shine!
A few days ago, I showed you the fun and colorful corner of the kids’ playroom. One of the features was the beautiful and colorful “Dream Big” sign.
I attended SNAP Conference last month and one of the products that really caught my eye was the Deco Foil adhesive and how easy it is to use on any porous surface with the Deco foils to create the beautiful foil effect. I wish I could capture the shine of the foil to show you how awesome it is!
I picked up a few samples of rainbow deco foil and couldn’t wait to use it in a project!

Materials Needed to Make the Rainbow Foil Kids Room Decor –
- Wood plank – a size of your choice – I used a scrap piece.
- Paint or stain colors of your choice
- Deco Foil adhesive
- Rainbow Deco foil transfer sheet – There are many other colors available too!
- Sharpie
How to Make the Rainbow Foil Decor –
Step 1 – Start by staining/ painting your piece of wood. I stained with weathered gray and dry brushed it with white paint.
Step 2 – Print out your words and transfer them to the wood. You can use transfer paper or my method of transferring letters. My little girl joined in to make this project. I filled in the “Big” with a black sharpie.
Step 3 – Use the Deco Foil adhesive sparingly and apply with a brush. Let it dry per the directions.
Step 4 – Start transferring the foil by rubbing it onto the tacky adhesive.
What I love about this is that you don’t waste any foil. you can keep transferring until all the foil is gone.
That’s it. It was so easy and fun! It is a perfect project to make with the kids too!
We used 3M command strips to put it up on the wall. My little girl loves all things rainbow and this little sign is now her favorite. She is actually begging me to move it to her room or make a new one!
I love that the kids room and playroom are now filled with lots of color and fun. Like this quick Ikea Tarva dresser makeover –
