Materials Needed for Easy IKEA Rast Makeover –

The Quickest Way to Makeover an IKEA Rast –

Step 1 – Assemble your Ikea Rast per directions but don’t install the knobs. Also, don’t attach the drawers to the frame. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble.Ikea Rast assembly

Step 2 – Cover all the knots with the shellac based primer. You will need 2 coats. This is very important because you don’t want the knots to bleed through. How to seal knots in Ikea furniture

Step 3 – Set up the large spray shelter and give the entire dresser including the drawers 3 coats of primer using the HomeRight Super FinishMax Extra. Wait about an hour between each coat. I love this new version because you don’t have to worry about diluting the primer. The best way to prime your furniture

Step 4 – Lightly sand the entire dresser to smooth it out and wipe down with a tack cloth.

Step 5 – Apply 2 coats of the latex paint using the Super FinishMax Extra. The fastest way to paint any Ikea furniture

Step 6 – Add the gold stripes across the dresser in your favorite pattern. I love that they look like they are painted on but can be easily removed if you wanted to change it out!Easy way to add gold stripes to any furniture
