This DIY project Planner is all you need to make any DIY home project successful! The printable worksheet with detailed instructions to use helps walk you through all the steps you need to finish your project on time and within budget!
One of the challenges I hear from my readers the most is “Not having enough time to finish a project“
Some say they procrastinate just because they get overwhelmed by not knowing where to start!
Some say “I start a project and so many things go wrong, I run out of steam!”
Trust me, I know what you are talking about.
The is one answer that can solve all your frustrations – A PLAN!
A DIY Project Plan
I have always been a planner and a list maker.
In my past life, I managed multi-million dollar projects in a large engineering company from the R&D stage to release and beyond. I learned a ton of technical program management principles.
Now as a blogger, doing multiple projects at once, writing, photographing and working social media, life can get really overwhelming and projects can take longer than they need to!
That’s when I realized, I needed to revert back to my inner program manager!
The DIY Project Planner
Once I started to apply all the program management principles to my project and blog post planning, I found that I wasn’t overwhelmed with all the to-do lists anymore because my projects flowed so smoothly!
Don’t get me wrong, life is unpredictable and will not always work the way you want it but it is important to plan for the expected and the unexpected!
I use these concepts for every project – big or small – whether I am making a table or doing a quick craft with the kids…
I realize this might benefit all DIYers – whether you are a blogger or not!
What is in the DIY Project Planner?
- It is a simple 4-page worksheet that you can print out and use for any project.
- It takes about 5-15 minutes to fill it out depending on the complexity of a project.
- It creates a detailed plan for every step of your project – what you want to do, what you need for it, when to do which step, and also what to do if something goes wrong or unexpected happens!
I have also included a detailed page showing you how to use the worksheet too!
Once you fill it out, all you have to do is follow the steps and your project will finish on time and budget!

Great worksheet! I need to get better about writing it all down. I seem to operate with the checklist in my head, which doesn’t always make for stress-free success! Visiting from Mad Skills party.
Thanks for stopping by Victoria! I hope you find this worksheet helpful!
Wow Anika! I am super impressed. I am nowhere near this organized. I could learn a thing or two from you, no doubt!
