DIY Jewelry Holder – How To Build A Simple Organizer

Learn how to make a DIY Jewelry holder using scrap wood with step by step tutorial and video. This DIY wooden jewelry holder is easy to make!

I love whipping up simple and useful items out of scrap wood.

It is not that these little projects make a dent in my ever-growing pile of scrap wood but I love being able to put all those little pieces to work anyway!

Today, I am showing you how to make an easy DIY tabletop jewelry holder.

It has a spot to hang bracelets, earrings and small necklaces.

I think it will look super pretty sitting on top of a vanity.

Plus it makes a great DIY gift for any lady in your life!

DIY Jewelry Holder

Materials to make the DIY jewelry organizer –

  • 1″ x 4″ board – 1 cut at 8″ (you could use any length you like based on your needs)
  • 2″ x 2″ boards – 2 cut at 8″ (again you can use any length you like)
  • ⅜″ round dowel – 3 pieces cut at 5.5″
  • 22 gauge floral wire
  • ⅝″ cup hooks
  • doll pin stands
  • Staple gun 
  • ⅝″ staples
  • white gorilla glue

How to make a wooden jewelry holder –

Step 1 – Make the cuts

  • Cut all the lumber as needed.
  • Attach the doll pin stands on the bottom of the 1″ x 6″ piece using white glue. More about this in the video above.These 3 simple pieces of scrap wood transformed into an amazing DIY jewelry holder!

Step 2 – Make holes for dowels

Using a ½″ drill bits make holes in one of the 2″ x 2″ boards. This DIY Jewelry holder is made from scrap wood! I can't believe how simple and easy it it! Plus it works so well!

Step 3 – Paint the jewelry holder

Paint all the pieces in the paint color of your choice. I used white spray paint for all the pieces. This DIY Jewelry holder is made from scrap wood! I can't believe how simple and easy it it! Plus it works so well!

Painting the bracelet organizer

Here is a trick on how to paint those dowels – I added a screw to one end and used that to hold it on a block of styrofoam. When dry, you can just take out the screw! Such a cool trick top spray paint round dowels!

Step 4 – Attach the boards

Attach the 2″ x 2″ boards to the base.

I used the white gorilla glue because it works well with painted surfaces.

I also put in a 1 ¼” spax screw to hold it together.

Step 5 – Attach the wires

  • Mark off 1″ sections on the back of the two 2″ x 2″ poles.
  • Start attaching the wire using the staple gun.
  • I explain all the details on how to attach it and take care of the sharp edges in the FB live video down below. She is making a DIY jewelry holder! I can't believe how easy and simple it is!

Step 6 – Attach dowels

Attach the dowels using the white gorilla glue.

Add cup hooks for necklaces.

That’s it!

    What a clever idea, like using a mug tree or picture frame but all combined into one lovely unit!
