The Kreg Jig has a special place in my woodworking journey.

It was the very first “tool” I bought when I discovered the world of woodworking.

For the longest time, the K4 and the power drill were the only two things I had. I would get the lumber cut at the hardware store, and those gentlemen were patient enough to let me dictate my entire cut list.

Then I would bring it home and put it all together. That is how I built the first table and chair set and my workbench.

I don’t think I would be doing what I do if it wasn’t for the world of pocket holes and how it makes it easy to make strong and durable joints without having to use advanced tools.

Why Kreg Jig?

Kreg Jig is a jig that helps you make pocket holes. Pocket holes are a very beginner-friendly joinery method that can be accomplished with just a power drill. You don’t need complicated techniques or tools. The resulting joints are strong and durable.

Pocket holes help lower the barrier to entry for beginners into the woodworking world.

Which Kreg Jig to Buy

There are many pocket hole jigs on the market. Kreg Tool Company has a large line of pocket hole jigs. The K4 and K5 were a popular pocket hole jig for many years. They are now obsolete, and the latest ones are the Kreg 320, Kreg 520, and the Kreg 720.

Each has its own advantages, and as you move to higher models, making pocket holes becomes faster and more efficient.
