Isn’t this colorful wood slice Christmas tree gorgeous?
I found a bag of these wood slices last year and picked them up because I knew I just had to have them!
After sitting on them and unable to decide what to do with them, they are finally a part of a very pretty, very sparkly, very colorful wood slice Christmas tree.

Materials Needed for the Wood Slice Christmas Tree –
- Floral foam cone – I used a 17½” high version
- Oval wood slices
- Hot glue
- Mod Podge
- Glitter in various colors.
How to Make a DIY Wood Slice Christmas Tree –
Of course, I have a video showing you how to make this pretty Christmas tree. Detailed written directions follow too.
DIY Wood Slice Christmas Tree
- Step 1 – Start by gluing the first row of wood slices at the bottom.

- Step 2 – Overlap the second layer over the first. Use the slanted bark area of the wood slices to apply glue and attach. It gives the perfect angle to the slices.

- Step 3 – Keep layering all around the cone until you have a wood slice Christmas tree!

- Step 4 – It looks awesome as is but you can never have enough color and sparkle. Mod Podge and glitter to rescue! Apply mod podge with a brush and sprinkle glitter over it. I added colors randomly until all the slices were covered.

That’s it!! A colorful bright sparkly wood slice tree!

It is the perfect combination of rustic and fun! You could totally do this with one color too! Make multiple trees of different sizes in different colors… the possibilities are endless…

Oh I’m a huge Christmas tree fan, especially colorful trees. This one is adorable and a must make!!! Thanks so much for sharing! XO ~~ Susie from The Chelsea Project
Oh my gosh I think this awesome little tree is going to blow up Pinterest. It was smart to add the glitter afterward that way you could quickly add the wood slices without having to think too hard about placement. I bet that saved a ton of time. Super smart and you’ll enjoy that tree for many years.
